However, the film suffered from a poor script, bad directing, and to a certain degree, bad acting. The process of taking the audience through what it was like to hold a sword, be drilled and dress up in a knight's armour was interesting to watch, but as a whole, the film lacked substance, and only served to be a vehicle to exploit the alliance between Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis.
